If you fall ill and are temporarily unable to work, it could result in a loss of turnover and income. There are several options to protect yourself against this risk, such as obtaining disability insurance or joining a mutual fund. However, many self-employed individuals in the cultural and creative sector choose not to insure themselves against this risk due to the (high) costs involved. To encourage self-employed professionals in this sector to make arrangements for disability, the Dutch government has allocated a subsidy budget available for a specific period. On this website, you can read how you can receive a temporary contribution from us towards the costs of such insurance or funds.
If we approve your application (we will notify you about this within two weeks after you have submitted your application), you will be reimbursed 50% of the monthly costs for a period of up to 12 months (with a maximum of €75.00 per month). The confirmation email will also contain instructions on how to submit a declaration in order to receive your contribution.
You will receive the previously awarded contribution for the second time 12 months after your declaration.
Don’t have a collective provision for disability yet?
New registrations often incur closing costs. To encourage self-employed people to take this step, new registrations are therefore eligible for an incentive bonus of € 200.00 (for a new registration with an insurance company or new participation in a mutual fund from 1 July 2024). We will transfer this amount to your bank account within three weeks after the approval of your application.
In order to assess your application, we require you to provide certain information. We would need a scan/photo of your insurance policy or proof of participation in a fund and a scan of your Chamber of Commerce (NL: KVK) extract. Moreover, please look up your private bank account number and read the rulebook below!
