Good to know
This page sets out the terms and conditions of the Zelfverzekerd scheme. A few things to know upfront.
Have a question about your application? Send us an email. There is no telephone helpdesk.
1 — Who is Zelfverzekerd for?
1a — Zelfverzekerd is for self-employed professionals in the cultural and creative sector who have disability insurance, a mutual support circle (like a Broodfonds) or crowdsurance. Whether you’re part of the target group is determined by the SBI code you’re registered with at the Chamber of Commerce. Check the SBI target group list to see if your code is included.
1b — You can use the scheme once. Multiple applications are not possible, unless we reject your application and ask you to submit a new one.
1c — Did you take out cover on or after 1 July 2025? Then on top of your monthly contribution, you’ll receive a one-off stimulansbonus (a bonus to encourage you to get covered) of €200.
2 — How do I apply?
2a — You apply through this website, and only in person. It is not possible to submit an application through an intermediary or authorised representative.
2b — Within 14 days you’ll receive an email letting you know whether your application has been approved or rejected. If your application is approved, that email will also include instructions on how to claim your contribution. If you’re also receiving the stimulansbonus, you’ll receive a separate email about that.
3 — How does claiming work?
3a — Twelve months after your application is approved, you can claim your contribution. You have 12 weeks to do this. After that, the option to claim expires.
3b — The amount of your contribution is fixed at the time your application is approved. Any increase or decrease in the cost of your cover has no effect on this.
3c — After claiming, a spot check may take place. In a spot check, we ask people to send proof of the premiums paid.
4 — Other conditions
4a — Applicants may be asked to participate in research on employment conditions in the sector or within their own professional practice.
4b — An application may be rejected if, in the opinion of Platform ACCT, it does not align with the spirit of the scheme.
4c — Platform ACCT reserves the right to modify or terminate the scheme at any time. If you have questions about this, send us an email.
